Health Systems Resilience, Primary Care, and Universal Health Coverage in an Era of Polycrisis
PLOS Global Public Health: Research without boundaries
Strong, equitable, and resilient health systems are essential to achieving universal health coverage and improving population health in an increasingly complex global environment. Yet health systems worldwide face growing pressures from pandemics, demographic change, migration, conflict, economic shocks, and workforce shortages.
PLOS Global Public Health invites submissions of original research for a new collection exploring how health systems can respond to these challenges, strengthen primary care, and advance universal health coverage.
Research to strengthen health systems
We are now welcoming submissions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers addressing a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
health policy and financing
primary healthcare strengthening
service delivery innovations
digital health
workforce development
governance
preparedness and response
health system performance
We are especially interested in research offering practical insights into how health systems can become more resilient, strengthen service delivery, and advance universal health coverage across low-, middle-, and high-income settings.
